Non-Surgical Pain Relief through Spinal Decompression
What is Spinal Decompression?
Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical, traction-based treatment for chronic neck, arm, back and leg pain.
A computerized traction unit is pre-programmed with settings designed to create muscle relaxation combined with traction (distraction).
During the treatment process, the patient comfortably cycles through distraction and relaxation phases; thus causing negative pressure within the disc space.
For herniated discs, the negative pressure can pull the herniated disc back into its normal space, allowing proper healing. The amount of healing may not be perceivable after each treatment, but overtime the results are remarkable.
What Conditions will Spinal Decompression Help?
•Herniated Discs
•Stenosis
•Sciatica
•Facet Syndrome
•Degenerative Disc Disease
•Numbness and Tingling in Hands and Feet
•Failed Back Surgery
How Many Treatments are Required?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the severity and complexity of your condition. Each session usually lasts between 15 to 30 minutes.
Am I a Candidate for Spinal Decompression?
If you are suffering from herniated discs in the neck or lower back or have leg pain or pain in the arms or hands you may be a candidate.
To ensure you are a candidate:
- We will conduct a complete evaluation of your medical history and current physical condition.
- We will review your records and all test results including orthopedic exams, neurological exams, x-rays, and MRI.
The results of these tests determine your treatment protocol. Call us for your free evaluation. We offer affordable payment programs.
Spinal Decompression Research
The American Journal of Pain Management reported "good to excellent" relief in 86% of patients with herniated discs, back pain, and sciatica symptoms being relieved. Good to excellent results were also obtained in 75% of those with facet syndrome.
In a recent journal article in Orthopedic Technology Review titled “Surgical Alternatives: Spinal Decompression,” results showed that 86% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy reported immediate resolution of symptoms while 84% of patients remained pain free 90 days post treatment. Physical examination findings showed improvement in 92% of the 219 patients, and remained intact in 89% of these patients 90 days after treatment.
